Important Information for our
Solo/Duo Mock Competition and Mandatory Stage Rehearsal

MANDATORY STAGE REHEARSAL 2026
Please read each detailed page on our Mandatory Stage Rehearsal.
This is a closed rehearsal and not open to family/friends.
Students will need the complete competition look, as if it is competition day. They will perform in their costume, competition hair style, and wear the required make-up and accessories.
*Mandatory Parent Attendance at Stage Rehearsal: To ensure all necessary feedback is communicated effectively, a parent must attend their child’s stage rehearsal (if child is on more than one team, you must be present for each).
This attendance allows you to both watch your daughter's performance and hear any vital, last-minute notes the teacher needs to share.
For some, you will be coming and going, while others may be here all day.
To ensure you are prepared while keeping the dressing rooms clean and your appearance camera-ready, here is a streamlined packing list:
Hydration (Spill-Proof & Clear)
-
Water: Pack at least 2 liters of plain water.
-
Containers: Use a leak-proof straw bottle or a tumbler with a secure lid to prevent spills on costumes and avoid smudging lip makeup.
-
Avoid: Fruit punch, dark/colored drinks, coffee, or open cups/cans.
"No-Stain" Healthy Snacks
Choose clear or light-colored foods that won't dye your tongue or lips.
-
Proteins: Sliced turkey breast, hard-boiled eggs (peeled), or plain almonds/cashews.
-
Fruits/Veg: Green grapes, peeled apple slices, bananas, cucumber spears, or celery sticks.
-
Quick Energy: Plain rice cakes, white cheddar cheese cubes, or original flavor protein bars.
-
Avoid: Berries (blueberries/strawberries), beets, flavored chips (Cheetos/Doritos), and chocolate.
Dressing Room Etiquette
-
Easy Snacks Only: Bring small, bite-sized items that can be eaten quickly without utensils.
-
Cleanliness: Keep all food inside a sealed insulated lunch bag to prevent crumbs or odors in the dressing area.
-
Disposal: Ensure all wrappers and waste are placed in designated trash bins immediately.
-
DO NOT EAT IN YOUR COSTUME OR BRING A GOOD COVER UP/ROBE TO WEAR TO PROTECT COSTUME AT ALL TIMES.
Finally, our Stage Rehearsal includes scheduled photo sessions. To ensure we stay on schedule, students must be ready to go at their designated times.
Professional photography will be provided by Art of Dance Photography by Tim Miller. The following week, we will share a link where you can view and purchase these photos.
In the attached document, you will find a link to help your child prepare and arrive "pose ready" for their individual shots. Miss Jenn will be on-site to organize the team photo and assist students as needed. To help the process run smoothly, parents are asked to wait in the lobby during all photo sessions.
MOCK COMPETITION 2026
Please re-read the stage rehearsal pages above, as they apply to the mock competition too.
There are two schedules for mock - the first one is the assigned photo time, and the second is the performance schedule. Changes cannot be made, so please make plans to arrive for your scheduled time (plan to bring a healthy meal/snack/water too).
NOTE: This is a private stage rehearsal for the solos and duos only.
We ask that only parents and immediate family members of the solos and duos attend.
All performers and parents are required to stay from the beginning to the end to watch and support one another.
-
Make sure you are fully stretched and rehearsed before we begin.
-
Students will sit quietly to watch or line up backstage.
-
Line up backstage 4 numbers prior, and please remain quiet in the backstage area.
-
Make sure you know your number and which dance you follow.
After your performance(s), please clean up the dressing room and thank your parents for this performance opportunity.
Judges' comments will be reviewed during your next private lesson.
We can't wait to see you take the stage!
